Use Those Scraps! This month I had just little bits here and there left over for scraps (the Spring Bouquet kit was so awesome to play with) that I had to get a bit creative with my leftovers this time. I decided that with some odds and ends (that can easily be found around the house) I could create a mini album that would be perfect for throwing in to my daughter's backpack and could serve as a little reminder of how much I love her when she is away visiting grandparents, friends or away at pre-k types of gatherings. You could easily switch the theme of this album and create one for a grandparent, your significant other, or a friend.
1. For the cover of the album I adhered a piece of orange cardstock, then adhered the Prima flower w/the chipboard Maya Road frame (w/patterned paper scrap backing it) and then added my Doodlebug letters for the title "Us." After everything was glued down I added some doodles on the frame with my white pen. 2. On page 1 of my album I simply adhered a pink piece of cardstock and added my journaling on scraps of blue cardstock, which I then cut out and adhered to the pink cardstock. I also added one of the 7gypsies rub-ons below my journaling. 3. Page 2 of my album I simply adhered a 4 x 6 photo to the cardboard and then used my exacto knife (you could also use your scissors) to trim my photo down to the same size of the cardboard. 4. Pages 3 and 4 I did the same thing as in step 3 (above). 5. Page 5 I again adhered a piece of cardstock (this time orange) to the cardboard and added my journaling on scraps of blue cardstock and added another 7gypsies rub-on. 6. Page 6 is another photo page (see steps 3 & 4).
7. The last page (back cover) I simply added my piece of patterned paper that was cut to size and added my Doodlebug letters to spell out "I Love You."
